Pickling: Generally, acid pickling is performed using chemical and electrolytic methods. Pipeline anti-corrosion only employs chemical pickling, which can remove scale, rust, and old coatings, and can be used as a follow-up treatment after sandblasting. Chemical cleaning of spiral welded steel pipes can achieve a certain level of cleanliness and roughness on the surface, but the anchor pattern is shallow and it is prone to environmental pollution. 3. Tool Removal: Primarily using tools like wire brushes to sand the steel surface, which can remove loose scale, rust, and slag. Manual tool removal can reach Sa2 level, while power tool removal can reach Sa3 level. If the steel surface of spiral welded steel pipes has firmly attached iron oxide scale, the tool removal effect may not be ideal and may not meet the anchor pattern depth required for anti-corrosion construction. 4. Jet Blasting: Jet blasting involves a high-power motor driving a jet blade to rotate at high speed, propelling steel shot, steel sand, iron wire segments, minerals, and other abrasives to blast the surface of spiral welded steel pipes under the strong centrifugal force of the motor. It can not only thoroughly remove oxides, rust, and dirt but also achieve the required uniform roughness on the surface of spiral welded steel pipes due to the intense impact and friction from the abrasives. After jet blasting, it can not only expand the physical adsorption on the pipe surface but also enhance the mechanical adhesion between the anti-corrosion coating and the pipe surface. Therefore, jet blasting is an ideal rust removal method for pipeline anti-corrosion. Generally, shot blasting is used for internal surface treatment of pipes, while abrasive blasting is used for the external surface treatment of spiral welded steel pipes. Strict technical standards for rust removal should be enforced during production to prevent secondary damage to spiral welded steel pipes due to operational errors. After rust removal, the product appearance becomes smoother compared to before, and rust removal is a commonly used technique in the steel pipe industry.
