Diesel generator sets are power generation equipment primarily fueled by diesel, utilizing diesel engines as the prime mover to drive generators (also known as dynamo) for electricity production, converting kinetic energy into electrical and thermal energy. The complete diesel generator set is mainly divided into three parts:
Diesel engine.
2. Generator (i.e., electric ball).

In detail, the components include the base, diesel engine, base fuel tank, genset (also known as an electric ball), controller (controls and protects the genset), radiator (air-cooled: fan; water-cooled: water tank), and soundproof enclosure, among others. To cater to varying local requirements, we categorize gensets into fixed and mobile trailer types. To reduce noise emissions and minimize disruption to work and life, designers have developed gensets with soundproof enclosures. This involves installing a metallic box externally, lined with sound-absorbing material, to shield the genset. Doors are placed on the sides for easy maintenance and control. The soundproof enclosure not only reduces noise but can be placed outdoors, serving as a shelter from sun and rain, alleviating the hassle of finding a dedicated机房. Diesel gensets are divided into regular and backup models, with power ratings corresponding to regular and backup. The standard regular power rating of each genset is typically 80% of the backup rating. For everyday use, rely on the national grid; use the backup diesel genset only when power is out. For extended operation, opt for the regular diesel genset, which can run for over 300 days a year with regular maintenance. The relationship between regular and backup power ratings is as follows: if a user needs a 100KW diesel genset, the regular power rating of the backup 100KW genset would be 100KW * 80% = 80KW. That is, the regular power rating of a 100KW backup genset is 80KW. If a soundproof enclosure is added to the diesel genset, the power rating will generally decrease by about 10%. Therefore, when purchasing a diesel genset, users should consider the power reduction due to the soundproof enclosure.
