The EMAT-2000 Multi-functional Electromagnetic Ultrasonic Flaw Detector is a high-power ultrasonic testing instrument that operates without acoustic coupling agent and is non-contact. It boasts an ultra-wide bandwidth, enabling low-frequency magnetostrictive guided wave testing and high-frequency electromagnetic ultrasonic testing on a single device. With different ultrasonic detection sensors, the multi-functional electromagnet ultrasonic flaw detector can not only perform long-distance guided wave flaw detection up to 100 meters but also detect internal and surface flaws, corrosion, and welding defects in workpieces, among other types of flaw detection.
Technical Advantages
(1) No need for sanding on rough workpiece surfaces; no coupling agent required.
(2) Achieves non-contact measurement of precision workpieces.
(3) The probe's performance is unaffected by temperature, making it suitable for high-temperature detection applications.
(4) Configured low-frequency magnetostrictive guided wave sensors to achieve long-distance guided wave defect detection up to 100 meters.
Configure various electromagnetic ultrasonic transducers to achieve internal or surface defect detection of workpieces.
Configure electromagnetic ultrasonic high-temperature corrosion detection sensors to achieve thickness measurement under ultra-high temperature conditions.
Principle of Detection
By wrapping sensors around the pipeline, the excited ultrasonic guided waves propagate along the pipeline's axis. Upon encountering defects, the ultrasonic guided waves reflect. After the probe receives the reflected echoes from the defects, the main unit processes and displays them. A single probe can detect cross-sections of over a hundred meters of pipeline in one go.
Technology Advantages
Long Detection Range: Up to 300 meters, enabling directional transmission (forward, reverse, bidirectional).
Full Coverage Inspection: Capable of covering pipelines, simultaneously achieving internal and surface defect detection.
Non-destructive Testing: Achieve full coverage up to 100 meters by installing at a single location on the pipeline, without the need for extensive cover removal or pipeline excavation.
High-Temperature Inspection: Capable of detecting up to 650°C.
High Reliability: Detects 1% cross-sectional loss, with high detection accuracy, preventing false negatives.
Easy Installation, Reusable: Only one probe needs to be installed during the inspection, eliminating the need for dozens to hundreds of probes evenly distributed around the pipeline, as required by traditional guided wave inspection methods. The probe can be reused with a thick, adhesive material.
Always Installable: Convenient for Long-Term Online Structural Health Monitoring.
