The EMAT-2000 Multi-functional Electromagnetic Ultrasonic flaw detector is a high-power ultrasonic testing instrument that operates without acoustic coupling agent and is non-contact. It boasts an ultra-wide bandwidth, enabling both low-frequency magnetostrictive guided wave testing and high-frequency electromagnetic ultrasonic testing on a single unit. With different ultrasonic detection sensors, the multi-functional electromagnetic ultrasonic flaw detector can not only perform long-distance guided wave defect detection up to 100 meters but also carry out various defect detections such as internal and surface defects in workpieces, corrosion detection, and welding defect detection.
Technical Advantages
(1) No surface finishing required for rough workpieces, no coupling agent needed.
(2) Achieves non-contact measurement for precision workpieces.
(3) The probe's performance is unaffected by temperature, making it suitable for high-temperature detection applications.
Configure low-frequency magnetostrictive guided wave sensors to achieve long-distance guided wave defect detection up to 100 meters in length.
(5) Configuring various electromagnetic ultrasonic transducers for internal or surface defect detection of workpieces.
(6) Configured electromagnetic ultrasonic high-temperature corrosion detection sensors to achieve thickness measurement under ultra-high temperature environments.
Principle of Detection
By wrapping sensors around pipes, the excited ultrasonic guided waves propagate along the pipe's axis. Upon encountering defects, the ultrasonic guided waves reflect, and the probe receives the reflected echoes, which are then processed and displayed on the main unit. A single probe can perform cross-sectional inspections on pipes over hundreds of meters in a single scan.
Technical Advantage
Long Detection Range: Up to 300 meters, enabling directional transmission (forward, backward, bidirectional).
Comprehensive Inspection: Capable of covering pipelines, it can simultaneously detect internal and surface defects.
Non-destructive Testing: Achieve full coverage up to 100 meters by installing at a single location on the pipeline, without the need for extensive surface damage or excavation.
High-Temperature Testing: Capable of detecting up to 650°C.
High Reliability: Detects 1% cross-sectional loss with high precision, preventing false negatives.
Easy Installation and Reusability: Only one probe needs to be installed during the detection process, eliminating the need for dozens, even hundreds of probes to be evenly distributed around the pipeline, as required by traditional guided wave detection methods. The probe can be reused with a thick adhesive.
Forever Installable: Convenient for Long-Term Online Structural Health Monitoring.
