The Electromagnetic Ultrasonic Corrosion Detector is a super compact instrument that performs non-contact measurements without the need for an acoustic coupling agent. It is capable of measuring the thickness of metallic materials at both room temperature and high temperatures. The measurement does not require a coupling agent, and the sensor does not need to be treated. The distance between the sensor and the test object can reach 4 millimeters, and anti-rust film, salt deposits, or any other insulating coating (paint, varnish, enamel, plastic, etc.) can serve as the operational limit.
Detection Principle:
The electromagnetic ultrasonic corrosion detector boasts an ultra-high bandwidth, allowing for both low-frequency magnetostrictive guided wave detection and high-frequency electromagnetic ultrasonic detection on a single instrument. With different ultrasonic detection sensors configured, the multifunctional electromagnetic ultrasonic flaw detector can not only perform long-distance guided wave defect detection up to 100 meters but also carry out internal defect detection, surface defect detection, corrosion detection, and welding defect detection for various types of defects.
Sensors are wrapped around the pipeline, with the excited ultrasonic guided waves propagating along the pipeline's axis. During propagation, if they encounter a defect, the ultrasonic guided waves will reflect. After the probe receives the reflected waves from the defect, the host processes and displays them. A single probe can detect the cross-section of a pipeline over 100 meters in a single operation.
In terms of sensor inclination, the test indicators are highly reliable, unlike traditional thickness measurements and piezoelectric converters, which require the sensor to be fixed in a specific position. The special data processing algorithm used in this instrument allows for accurate thickness measurements even in the presence of interference factors such as metal anisotropy, multiple reflectors, and external noise.
Technical Advantages:
(1) Extraordinarily compact and easy to carry
(2) Equipped with an integrated wireless module for communication with tablets.
(3) Non-sensitive to coatings, enabling measurement of coated workpieces.
(4) No sanding required for rough or severely rusted surfaces; contactless measurement possible.
(5) Measurement of high-temperature workpieces without acoustic coupling agent, with temperature compensation for high temperatures.
