Fire curtain door installation and usage principle

I. Application Scenarios

Fire-rated roller shutters are primarily used in public places with fire safety requirements, such as large supermarkets (hypermarkets), large shopping malls, large professional material markets, large exhibition halls, factories, warehouses, etc. In the event of a fire, the fire-rated roller shutters, under the control of the fire central control system, automatically lower (descend) according to a pre-set program, effectively preventing the spread of flames to other areas and gaining precious time for fire extinguishing operations.

Section II: Normal Operation

In most cases, large buildings are equipped with a fire control central control system as required by the national fire safety law. In the event of a fire, the smoke sensors installed on the roof (referred to as smoke detectors) receive the smoke signal first and simultaneously alert the central control system. The fire control central control system, upon identification, activates the power supply to the fire-resistant roller shutters in the affected area, causing them to descend at a certain speed. When the shutters reach approximately 1.8 meters from the ground, they stop descending to facilitate the evacuation of personnel. After a certain period of pause in the middle, the shutters continue to descend until they are fully closed. The descent speed of the fire-resistant roller shutters and the pause time can be adjusted during installation.

In instances where a building does not have a fire central control system, fire-rated curtains are operated solely through the fire control cabinet of the fire-rated curtain door, following the prescribed fire safety operation procedures. In such cases, when a fire alarm is triggered, the smoke sensor directly transmits the fire alarm signal to the fire control cabinet of the fire-rated curtain door, which then executes the descent command for the fire-rated curtain as programmed.

III. Exceptional Emergency

Due to a fire incident, there may be damage to the control circuit. In the event of a power outage, the fire-rated roller shutter doors can only be lowered by pulling a chain, and the manual device on the doors typically allows for one-way lowering only; they cannot be raised.
