I. Construction Precautions

When laying the surface layer during the winter, the construction environment temperature should not be lower than 5°C. If winter laying is necessary, anti-freezing and insulation measures must be taken to ensure that the mortar reaches more than 20% of its designed strength before freezing temperatures. Before laying the stone with ice crack net, a selection and trial assembly of boards should be conducted. Any panels with cracks, chipped corners, warping, or surface defects should be removed. Panels with different strengths and types must not be mixed for use.

Surface laying should prevent hollowing between the deck and subgrade. During operations, attention should be paid to clean the sublayer surface with a wire brush, moisten it and apply a uniform coat of plain cement slurry. The thickness of the leveling layer should not be too thin, with the thin parts being less than 20mm. The mortar laying must be full, and the water-cement ratio should not be too high. At the same time, avoid early foot traffic to prevent hollowing.

Due to the unevenness of the panels themselves, excessive thickness variations, or improper operation during installation, such as not properly leveling or prematurely walking on the laid tiles, it is common for adjacent panels to be uneven during construction. Careful operation is required during construction, with attention to preventing these issues. If unevenness has already occurred, it should be addressed by carefully polishing with a grinder and applying wax to shine it up. Sometimes, due to the irregular shape of the room, not accurately measuring the gaps during installation, or insufficient strict control of material dimensions, there may be variations in the wall edges, resembling a "mouse tail."

During construction, it is crucial to square and flush the joists before applying plaster in the room. Rooms with marble finish layers should be squared using the same perpendicular reference line. Lay tiles strictly according to the control lines. When installing skirting boards, pay attention to laying them with strings to control their flatness, preventing uneven thickness of the skirting boards against the wall.

Section II: Product Protection

Marble (granite) trial assembly should be conducted in a level room or shed. Personnel moving and adjusting slabs should wear soft-soled shoes. During the laying process, operators should clean the slabs as they lay them. Cleaning the slabs should be done with a soft bristle brush and a dry cloth. When operators and inspectors step on newly laid slabs, they should wear soft-soled shoes and gently step on the center of the slabs. When walking on the finished surface, the strength of the leveling cement砂浆 should be above 1.2 MPa. When chiseling and cutting slabs, a wooden board should be placed underneath.
