The steel sheets can be divided into the following categories based on production and processing methods: ① Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheets.
The thin steel plate is dipped into a molten zinc bath, resulting in a thin layer of zinc adhering to its surface.
Currently, the main production process involves a continuous galvanizing technique, where rolled steel sheets are continuously immersed in a molten zinc bath to produce galvanized steel sheets. ② Alloy galvanized steel sheets. These sheets are also made using the hot-dip method, but after being removed from the bath, they are immediately heated to approximately 500°C to form an alloy coating of zinc and iron. This galvanized sheet offers good adhesion to paints and welding properties; ③ Electrolytic galvanized steel sheets. These are manufactured using the electroplating method and have good machinability. However, the coating is thinner and less corrosion-resistant than hot-dip galvanized sheets; ④ Single-sided and double-sided differential galvanized steel sheets. Single-sided galvanized steel sheets refer to products that are only galvanized on one side. They have better adaptability in welding, painting, rust prevention treatment, and processing compared to double-sided galvanized sheets. To overcome the drawback of uncoated zinc on one side, there is also a type of galvanized sheet with a thin zinc coating on the other side, known as double-sided differential galvanized steel sheets; ⑤ Alloy and composite galvanized steel sheets. These are steel sheets made by alloying zinc with other metals like lead and zinc, even into composite coatings. These sheets provide both excellent corrosion resistance and good painting properties.
In addition to the aforementioned five types, there are also color-coated galvanized steel sheets, printed coated galvanized steel sheets, and PVC-laminated galvanized steel sheets, among others.
Currently, hot-dip galvanized sheets are still widely used.
Galvanized steel sheets are further categorized by application, including general-purpose, roofing, exterior building panels, structural, tile, stretch-forming, and deep drawing grades. Main production facilities and importing countries:
①Major domestic producers: Wuhan, Anshan Iron and Steel, Baosteel, and Guangdong, among others; ②Key international producers include Japan, Germany, Russia, France, and others.
