Key Technical Points
1. The base material for spray seeding is a crucial factor for the success of the process. Sphagnum peat is an excellent material for spray seeding, which can be mixed with wood fiber (or pulp) in a certain ratio for use. It offers superior adhesion and water retention properties compared to using pure wood fiber alone. It can be used for spray seeding on slopes with thin soil layers and extremely barren conditions, even on weathered rock surfaces. The general spray thickness is about 10 cm.
2. Water Retention Agent and Adhesive Usage. The amount of water retention agent can be adjusted according to the varying climatic conditions and characteristics of different stone quarries; the adhesive usage is determined by the slope of the stone wall, with a direct proportionality to the slope's steepness.
3. Hanging the Mesh: First, fix the anchor pins at certain intervals on the stone wall, then hang the mesh. The mesh is typically made of galvanized iron wire mesh (also known as woven wire mesh, grill mesh, or machine-woven mesh).
4. Seed Selection: The grass seeds to be broadcast should be perennial varieties with well-developed root systems, rapid growth into a lawn, drought resistance, and tolerance to poor soil; if the local winter is cold, consider the frost resistance of the variety as well.
5. Mixed Sowing. Utilize the complementary characteristics of grass seeds, such as deep and shallow root systems, legumes and grasses, foreign and local varieties, early and late development, etc., for mixed broadcast sowing.
