Signage system, which not only serves as guidance, instructions, and directions, is also a crucial part of environmental layout and an essential element in creating style and shaping culture. Understanding and correctly recognizing it is key to fully utilizing its functions. High-quality signage plays a vital role in standardizing management and enhancing the overall image of public environments such as enterprises, schools, scenic areas, hotels, inns, office buildings, government agencies, and parks.
Label Function
1. Identification signs and labels feature marking functions, primarily conveying their purpose visually. For instance, they communicate through text; the symbols on identification signs and labels possess symbolic, directional, and suggestive functions. The style of the text can express personality and background, revealing symbolic and constructive meanings.
2. Identification signs are a medium for conveying information? They possess advertising functions.
3. Do signboards and labels perform industrial functions and roles? In today's high-tech modern automated society, as the needs of social construction grow, the signboard manufacturing industry will secure its own position. The increasingly规模化 production of signboards and labels essentially meets all the demands of today's high-tech modern automated society. Therefore, we cannot refer to the signboard manufacturing industry as a simple labor-intensive sector.
The functions of the signboard are two:
1. Marked with symbols and warnings, the signs primarily convey their functions visually. For instance: the text communicates, while symbols serve symbolic, directional, and suggestive purposes, etc.
Text style can convey personality, background, and meaning. Shape and symbols together express symbolic and constructive significance.
2. Signs are a medium for conveying information, serving both advertising and warning functions.

What to pay attention to when printing UV on acrylic?
When printing UV on acrylic without applying a coating, the printed pattern may easily peel off, resulting in poor color perception, fading colors, and other issues like the color becoming lighter with water washing. To avoid these problems, here's what you need to consider for UV acrylic printing:
Currently, acrylic spray coatings on the market come in two-component or multi-component formulations, which require precise manufacturer-provided mixing ratios before use, making them inconvenient. Due to the investment in acrylic spray, it is advisable to opt for a safer water-based coating. If solvent-based coatings are necessary, they should be stored separately from acrylics to eliminate potential safety hazards.
As high-value decorative products, UV printed items generally have high requirements for appearance, which necessitates a colorless and transparent coating film. Currently, some two-component coatings based on epoxy resins are yellowing upon curing, affecting the decorative effect. Additionally, there is the issue of weather resistance; for UV printed products, especially outdoor signage, billboards, and printed materials, they must remain bright and new-looking for a long time without fading.
Adhesion issues? There are many adhesion testing methods, such as the 100-Grid Method. If higher quality requirements are placed on printed products, you can also test whether the printed image peels off after the product is soaked in water or boiled. Adhesion is a key indicator of coating quality.

Label Making Process
The plate-making process determines the quality of the signs, and the production steps of the sign-making process decide the quality of the sign production. During production, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the relevant standards of the three production steps to ensure high-quality sign products.
1. Plate Making. The text and graphics on signage are typically produced using photoengraving and photocomposition. A single original is first created, then assembled using a continuous exposure machine. During assembly, either gapless or gapped assembly can be used based on the required precision of the parts. For signage with less stringent size requirements, gapless assembly is suitable. After printing, the signage can be directly cut or cut and then formed. For signage with high precision size requirements, gapped assembly should be used. After printing, holes are punched and formed according to the position of the locating holes, with a gap of 2mm between parts, locating hole diameter of 2mm with a spacing of 4mm, and a total area of 400×400mm, or as determined by the process design. If the screen-printed signage is in two or more colors, the photoplate should have a locating guide line. The locating holes can be drawn on the photoplate of the main signage pattern to ensure precision during cutting.
2. Positioning of screen printing plates. Positioning is crucial for accuracy, and whether the positioning is accurate is a key factor in determining the quality of metal screen printing labels. The guidelines on the screen printing label plate ensure the accurate, uniform positioning of the graphics on the same printed workpiece surface, as well as the precision required for full-color overlay. Depending on the material and shape of the substrate, the positioning methods for screen printing labels vary. Common methods include the following:
One type is edge positioning. Suitable for straight-edged workpieces, such as: nameplates, panels, various scales, etc., simply place the two right angles of the workpiece tightly against the positioning strip during screen printing.
Two is edge positioning. Suitable for screen printing on non-standard shaped workpieces, it allows the outer frame of the workpiece's molding and processing to be attached to the required position on the platform after trimming the gaps, simply by placing the non-standard workpiece into the outer frame during the screen printing process.
The third method is hole positioning. Hole positioning is suitable for screen printing with the same graphic layout, where pre-drilled positioning holes are made on the plate material. The screen printing is then done with the holes for positioning, and the molding of the workpiece is still based on these positioning holes.
The fourth method is overlapping positioning. Suitable for screen printing overlaid shapes on transparent materials. During positioning, you can print the two patterns on a cardboard, cover them with a film featuring the patterns, ensuring that the corresponding positions of the two patterns meet the design size requirements. Then, secure the printed film to the platform. When screen printing the patterns, simply align the transparent workpiece with the patterned film on the platform to achieve the positioning goal.
3. Metal Wire Screen Printing Label Ink Mixing. The requirements for screen printing inks used on metal wire labels include strong adhesion, good wear resistance, clear graphics after printing, quick drying, and no blocking of the mesh. The metal label screen printing inks typically use alkyd, phenolic, and other synthetic resins as binders, with the addition of some pigments and additives to create the ink. This ink has good printing properties, dries naturally or can be dried in 2 hours at 120℃. The ink film has a glossy surface with a three-dimensional feel, and has excellent adhesion and wear resistance when combined with aluminum plates. The ink film's wear resistance is tested using a JM-1 type film abrasion tester, with a rubber abrasive wheel loaded at 7509N able to withstand over 500 cycles, and a cloth wheel able to withstand over 5000 cycles.
If screen printing colored labels, refer to the color samples of the printing ink for mixing. When adjusting the ink, add an appropriate amount of ink thinner and drying agent. The addition of the ink drying agent should be about 5% to 8% of the total ink volume; adding too little makes it difficult to dry, while adding too much affects the ink's adhesion.
4. Quality requirements for metal wire printing labels. The text, scales, graphics, positioning holes, and colors on the printed labels should comply with the drawing specifications. The finished surface should be free of visible scratches and spots, and the adhesion of the ink film should meet the requirements.
