Summary: With the widespread application of 6kV to 35kV medium and low voltage switchgear in substation and distribution systems, the number of equipment damage incidents caused by arc fault accidents within the switchgear is increasing. This article analyzes the causes and characteristics of arc fault accidents based on power outages caused by arc faults in the Xinjiang Oilfield power grid, and introduces technical measures for using arc fault protection devices in actual engineering to reduce power outages caused by arc fault accidents.
