Guangdong Power Grid officially launches the large-scale charging station construction within the province.
7On January 1st, the Guangdong Power Grid Company officially launched a large-scale charging station that has been invested in and constructed across the province. Upon full operation, the station will feature 105 charging posts with a total capacity of 8,543 kW. This initial phase includes the launch of 85 charging posts, with a combined capacity of 6,854 kW.

The charging station, a joint venture between Guangdong Shaanwei Power Supply Bureau of the Southern Power Grid and Shaanwei Yuanyun Company, marks the third large-scale new energy vehicle charging station built in collaboration. Located in the Shaanwei Haifeng Science Park, the project is in two phases. Once fully operational, the station will feature 95 AC 84kW charging posts and 10 differently specified public charging posts, catering to all types of electric vehicles. It will serve 1,360 electric buses across the entire Shaanwei city.
For many years, the Shanwei Power Supply Bureau has actively promoted the development of electric vehicles and taken the lead in constructing the charging market. Since 2016, the Bureau has started to deploy and build charging infrastructure, and currently, 49 electric vehicle charging stations with a total of 293 charging posts have been constructed and put into operation in the central areas of five districts and counties in Shanwei City, with a combined capacity of 18,400 kilowatts. In the second half of the year, 13 more stations are expected to be completed. It is projected that by the end of 2020, the cumulative number of charging posts will reach 443, with a total capacity of 28,400 kilowatts, better meeting the charging needs of both public and private electric vehicles in Shanwei, providing a strong guarantee for citizens' green travel.
