The market is brimming with trends, so why are ABS grilles becoming the go-to choice now? It used to be aluminum alloy grilles, and at first, it was metal sheet grilles. So, why are we now seeing a surge in the use of the new ABS grilles, and why are they so popular? Below, please see the explanation of the advantages of ABS grilles and find out why they've emerged.World拓 Air Conditioning Ceiling Fan Coil Installation Accessories ABS Air Grille/Fan Coil Aluminum Air Grille?

World拓 Air Conditioner Ceiling Fan Coils Installation Accessories ABS Air Grilles / Aluminum Alloy Ceiling Fan CoilsKey AdvantagesABS one-piece molded air outlets, with their seamless, sandblasted matte finish, offer a beautiful, natural look with smooth lines and excellent flexibility. They have a long lifespan, are lightweight, UV-resistant, and do not fade. They are also resistant to deformation, washable, condensation-proof, and provide quick production efficiency. No painting is needed, and there are no gaps at the corners. Suitable for installation in various environments, they are known for their fast installation process.

Believe it or not, users of central air conditioning are well aware of the reason for producing ABS air outlets? Why are ABS air outlets appearing on the market? It's actually quite simple. Those who have used central or home air conditioners know that after a period of operation, condensation often forms on the air outlets, leading to water dripping over time, causing various inconveniences. So, what causes this? And how can it be resolved? Please refer to the following explanation.

The Principle of Condensation on Indoor Unit Air Ducts:

The temperature difference between the air outlet surface and the indoor environment (or the surrounding temperature of the air outlet) is too great. The surface temperature of the air outlet is lower, combined with higher indoor air humidity, causing condensation on the indoor unit's air outlet.

During summer, when the humidity inside the room is high, the dew point temperature of the air is also higher. When the supply air temperature is lower than the dew point temperature of the air inside the room, the air conditioner's outlet grille will condense and drip condensate water, especially during the initial startup period. This is a normal phenomenon.

Section II: Causes of Condensation at the Air Outlet

1. The air humidity within the air conditioning area is relatively high; the relative humidity exceeds 60% or more. (For example, coastal areas during summer and the plum rain season in South China.)

2. The fresh air system brings in a large amount of humid outdoor air into the room, or when windows at home are left open, outdoor air enters (similarly, both scenarios involve high humidity in the outdoor air).

3. The indoor unit is not properly matched for air volume and cooling capacity, resulting in excessive cooling and insufficient air volume (this often occurs when the air ducts of the ducted air conditioner are too long, causing the cold breeze to not come out and a large amount of cold air to accumulate inside the ducts).

4. The air outlet is made of aluminum material, which has good thermal conductivity, causing the surface temperature of the outlet to be too low and condense moisture.

5. The exhaust vent is too large, and the corresponding air duct is too narrow, causing the wind to blow out from the "center" of the vent, resulting in a significant temperature difference between the center and the edges of the vent, leading to condensation.

6. The indoor unit's drainage is experiencing issues, with a large amount of condensate being blown out by the fan into the water tray.

7. Soft connections (canvas) have air leaks between the indoor unit or air outlet, including the panel between the four-way air outlet embedded machine and the indoor unit, improper installation causing gaps leading to air leaks. Air leaks can result in significant temperature differences in certain areas, leading to condensation.

III. Solutions to Condensation at Air Inlet Sections:

1. Wooden air outlets are less prone to condensation, followed by ABS material outlets. However, the drawback of wooden outlets is that during winter heating, due to the significant temperature difference between the outlet being in use and not in use, they are prone to warping, cracking, and fading.

2. Utilizing ABS material air inlets, an emerging resin material with minimal deformation and condensation. However, it is slightly more expensive and may fade over time. The inlets can become brittle and prone to breakage with prolonged use.

3. Condensation at the air outlet is usually caused by excessive indoor humidity. Pay attention to keeping the doors and windows of the air-conditioned room tightly closed to prevent outdoor hot and humid air from seeping into the room. As the air conditioner has a certain dehumidifying capacity, the humidity in the room's air will gradually decrease as the unit runs, leading to less condensation until it stops entirely.

4. Set the indoor temperature higher at the beginning, around 26°-28° when just turning on, and adjust it to your desired temperature after a while. Increase the air speed of the indoor unit.

5. Condensation occurs when the outlet air temperature is below the dew point of the air. Simply make the outlet into a divergent nozzle like that, or increase the air volume. If there are issues with the wind duct being too long or the airflow not being smooth, the duct will need to be modified.

6. If it's a louvered air outlet, you can adjust the angle of the edge blades to create more turbulence at the outlet, enhancing the induced wind around the edges, which will also help address the aforementioned issues.

7. Issues such as air leakage, mismatched air outlet sizes, and poor drainage need to be thoroughly resolved.

8. Louver vents can alter the exit air direction by adjusting the angle of the edge blades, which may help in resolving condensation issues.

IV. Summary:

Currently, wooden air outlets on the market can also prevent condensation, but compared to ABS outlets, wooden outlets have many defects, such as non-flame retardant, prone to discoloration, and easy to deform, etc. Therefore, ABS outlets still dominate the market for anti-condensation outlets.
