This novel invention involves a vertical upflow photocatalytic reactor with internal diffused flow on multiple tower plates. The reactor is lined with lamps encased in quartz sleeves, which are coaxial with the reactor. Spiral ascending tower plates are arranged from the bottom to the top of the reactor, with multiple catalyst trays suspended in the space between the upper and lower tower plates. The inlet is located at the lower part of the photocatalytic reactor, while the outlet is set at the upper part.
