DC torque motors are a type of torque motor, powered by direct current. They are a special type of motor with soft mechanical characteristics and a wide speed regulation range. Unlike motors that output power at a constant power, these motors output power at a constant torque. DC torque motors can provide a lower output torque with a higher output speed, allowing for independent adjustment of speed and output torque, making them easy to use and operate simply. They offer higher controllability compared to standard AC torque motors.

Low harmonic content in sine reverse electromotive force, with typical design values of 2.5% for the third harmonic and 0.3% for the fifth harmonic. No tooth engagement torque fluctuation.Wide torque/current linear range with high linearity.High torque densityUltra-low hysteresis damping torqueUltra-low inductance, small electrical time constant, fast dynamic response.Low coaxiality requirement for stator-rotor installation.

DC torque motors are used in industries such as mechanical manufacturing, textiles, papermaking, rubber, plastics, metal wire and cable manufacturing; DC torque motors can also be flexibly applied based on their various features: they can partially replace DC motors, be used in gate (valve) opening and closing systems with high resistance torque, and can also be utilized in devices that frequently change direction or in various mechanical devices with similar actions.
