Electromagnetic Acoustic Probe

Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT) is a single-crystal probe that transmits and receives ultrasonic waves using the magnetostrictive effect.

The part number is E110-SB.


Advantages and Features

• No need to remove the external oxide layer

• No coupling agent required

• During testing, it can be in contact with the surface being tested or maintain a very small distance from it.

• Can be used at higher material temperatures*

• Detectable Small Diameter Pipes

• Metal rings are used to protect the anti-abrasion surface, adjustable for optimal magnetic field level.

*Temperature Specifications: Continuous contact at 0° C to 60° C, intermittent contact at 80° C. Intermittent contact is defined as 10 seconds of contact followed by 60 seconds of cooling.
