This uniquely designed instrument is compatible with all Olympus dual crystal and single crystal thickness probes, offering an innovative instrument that combines multiple solutions into one, suitable for almost all thickness measurement applications.

Standard Features

The 45MG instrument with basic configuration is an easy-to-learn thickness gauge, requiring minimal training for operators to handle most common thickness measurement applications. However, with the optional software and probe added, the 45MG instrument becomes a highly advanced thickness gauge capable of applications that typical entry-level instruments cannot perform. Moreover, most options can be purchased separately at the time of instrument purchase or at a later date as needed.

With just a few clicks, transform from a basic thickness gauge to a versatile precise thickness gauge. The 45MG gauge offers 5 password-protected software options, placing it among the widely used thickness gauges in the industrial field.

• Echo to Echo/Through-Cover Coating (THRU-COAT): Using the Echo-to-Echo option, the actual thickness of the metal will be displayed on the instrument screen, while the coating thickness will be ignored. The Penetrate Coating option measures both the metal thickness and the non-metallic coating thickness, adjusting both based on their respective correct material sound velocities. Therefore, there is no need to remove the paint or coating from the material surface when measuring thickness.
  

• Single CrystalThis option offers highly precise thickness measurement for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, composites, glass, and ceramics. It is compatible with single crystal Microscan probes with frequencies ranging from 2.25 MHz to 30 MHz.

• Monocrystalline High TransparencyThis option is for thickness measurement of thicker or more attenuative materials, such as glass fiber or cast metal. It is compatible with single-crystal Microscan probes within the frequency range of 0.5 MHz to 30 MHz. This option includes the single-crystal option.

• Data recorderThe 45MG thickness gauge features a fully functional built-in dual alphanumeric data recorder for easy storage and transfer of thickness readings and waveform data. This option includes the GageView interface program based on Windows.

• Real-time A-scan with waveform adjustment featureUsers can opt for the real-time A-scan mode, which allows them to directly view the ultrasonic waveform (also known as A-scan) on the thickness gauge's display, verify thickness measurement readings, and manually adjust gain and blank settings to significantly enhance measurement performance in challenging applications. This beneficial option includes parameters such as manual gain adjustment, extended blanking, first echo blanking, range, and delay.
