Product Details

OmniScan X3 phased array flaw detector with full-field mapping (TFM) capability

The OmniScan X3 flaw detector's advanced TFM (Through-Transformer Method) processing capabilities include a real-time envelope function, which eliminates acoustic oscillations in standard TFM images, aiding in image interpretation. The envelope function maintains a below-tolerance amplitude fidelity (less than 2 dB) even when using a coarser TFM grid resolution, which helps offset the computational load of the envelope, thereby increasing acquisition speed. Words are easy to say, but the image speaks for itself; once you see the image, you'll be convinced of the envelope function's benefits.

Full-angle coverage:TFM images generated from Full Matrix Capture (FMC) data not only offer high resolution but also accurately reflect the geometrical shape of the workpiece, making it easier to identify the location and orientation of defects. You can simultaneously view and compare up to 4 different propagation modes in the TFM images. This feature aids in detecting defects with abnormal orientations.

Greatly reduced setup time:With multiple features that allow for more convenient and efficient instrument setup, you can immediately dive into the testing process:

  • Improved Rapid Calibration: Sensitivity, Time Correction Gain (TCG)

  • Simultaneously complete multiple configurations

  • Simplified calibration verification for saved settings

  • A concise Diffraction Time-of-Flight (TOFD) menu removes unnecessary steps

Detect and define smaller high-temperature hydrogen-assisted (HTHA) pores

Due to the critical importance of early detection of high-temperature hydrogen-assisted (HTHA) defects, multiple detection methods are typically employed to enhance the likelihood of detecting such defects. It has been proven that techniques such as Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD), Full Matrix Capture (FMC), and Double-Crystal Linear Array (DLA) are particularly effective for this detection application. The OmniScan X3 flaw detector not only fully supports these methods but also its innovative Total Focusing Method (TFM) imaging capabilities, along with some software tools, simplify the setup and analysis process.

Olympus' probe series, optimized for detecting High Temperature Hydrogen Attack (HTHA) defects, combined with the OmniScan X3 flaw detector, form a detection solution for early identification of High Temperature Hydrogen Attack defects.

  • Integrated DLA Probe Configuration

  • Real-time full-focus mode (TFM) enveloping, capable of eliminating signal oscillation

  • High-resolution Full Focus Mode (TFM) images (up to 1024 × 1024 pixels)

  • 64-chip Full Focus Mode (TFM) Extended Aperture

Effectively detect high-temperature hydrogen-induced defects (HTHA) using multi-technology probes

Cover a wider weld seam area and heat-affected zone (HAZ) — Angle Beam DLA probe (A28)

  • High resolution, 10 MHz, 32 tiny chips, dual crystal array

  • High beam deviation capability

  • Its patented pivot housing provides a longer focusing range, thus achieving a higher detection rate (POD).

  • Series wedge blocks with roof angles can focus in a depth range of 4mm to 95mm in the secondary shaft direction.

Rapid High-Temperature Hydrogen Assisted (HTHA) Defect Scanning — Zero Degree DLA Probe (REX1)

  • 10 MHz, 64 chips, double crystal array

  • Beam width coverage up to 30mm

  • Adjustable, sturdy, and hard alloy abrasion-resistant device, capable of tightly fitting onto pipe surfaces with an outer diameter as small as 101.6 mm.

  • Integrated wedges cover a thickness range from 4mm to 95mm.

  • When used with an encoder or scanner, it provides clear C-scan images.

Early detection of high-temperature hydrogen-assisted (HTHA) defects — Full-field focusing (TFM) probe (A31/A32) optimized for detecting high-temperature hydrogen-assisted (HTHA) defects

  • 包 containing multiple smaller chips, high frequency, can fully utilize the potential of total focusing method (TFM) detection when probing high-temperature hydrogen-induced (HTHA) defects.

Wedge block for A28 probe

The Angle Beam Wedge Series has been optimized for excellent detection of weld volume and heat-affected zones. The wedge angles are set to generate longitudinal waves with a nominal incidence angle of 65 degrees in steel. Each wedge features a roof angle, which is calculated based on the different AOD diameters for various wedges.

The SA28 wedge allows the beam to focus at two depths, covering a wide range of thicknesses.

  • SA28-N65L-FD25: Facilitates high-quality inspection for workpieces with thickness ranging from 4mm to 45mm

  • SA28-N65L-FD60: Facilitates high-quality inspection for workpieces with thickness ranging from 45mm to 95mm.
