K-type compensating wire KX-H-FVRP thermocouple sheathed temperature-sensing line precision extension wire Thermocouple Compensation Wire Explanation, Structure, and Definition: Thermocouple compensation wire, commonly referred to as compensation wire, is typically composed of alloy wire, insulation, sheath, and shielding layer. Within a certain temperature range (including room temperature), it consists of a pair of insulated wires with a nominal electromotive force (emf) value identical to that of the matched thermocouple. These wires are used to connect the thermocouple to the measuring device to compensate for the temperature variations at the junction with the thermocouple, thereby reducing errors. Two: Utilizing compensating cables between thermocouples and measuring devices offers two advantages: 1. Improve the physical and mechanical properties of thermocouple temperature measurement lines. Using multiple-core wires or small-diameter compensating conductors can enhance the flexibility of the lines, facilitate wiring, and also adjust line resistance or shield external interference. 2. Reduce measurement circuit costs; using compensating cables can save a significant amount of thermocouple material, especially when using precious metal thermocouples, making the economic benefits even more pronounced when the thermocouple is far from the measuring device. Section 3: Terms and Symbols (1) Extended Compensation Wire: The extended compensation wire, also known as the extended wire, has the same nominal chemical composition of the alloy wire and the nominal electromotive force as the thermocouple it is paired with. It is denoted by the letter "X" appended after the thermocouple type number, e.g., "KX" indicates an extended compensation wire for a K-type thermocouple. (2) Compensation Compensation Wire: Also known as compensation wire, the nominal chemical composition of the alloy wire in the compensation compensation wire is different from that of the thermocouple it is paired with. However, its electromotive force value is the same as the nominal value of the electromotive force of the paired thermocouple at 0-100℃ or 0-200℃. It is indicated by the letter "C" appended after the thermocouple type number, such as "KC". Different alloy wires can be used in the same type number thermocouple and are distinguished by additional letters, such as "KCA", "KCB". Currently, it is not widely used. (3) Allowance: The allowance for thermocouple compensation wires is due to significant deviation caused by the use of compensation wires in the measurement system. This value is expressed in microvolts, and the allowance size is divided into precision and standard grades. (4) Symbols: S—Indicates precision grade thermoelectric compensation wire. No letter is marked for ordinary grade compensation wire; G—Indicates general-purpose compensation wire; H—Indicates heat-resistant compensation wire; R—Indicates compensation wire with multi-strand core. No letter is marked for compensation wire with a single-strand core; P—Indicates compensation wire with a shielding layer; V—Indicates that the insulation or sheath is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC); F—Indicates that the insulation is made of polytetrafluoroethylene; B—Indicates that the sheath is made of non-glass fiber material.
