Installation and Adjustment:
PGZ series flat cast iron arch gate, installation must check the large overall dimensions of the gate and the reserved aperture for the second phase concrete structure foundation layout, whether they match. It is recommended that the dimensions around the foundation layout aperture be 20 cm larger than the dimensions around the large overall shape of the gate.
1. Before installing the gate, confirm the direction of water flow and then adjust the correct height and position of the upper plane on the bottom transverse frame of the gate. The upper plane of the bottom transverse frame should be positioned at riverbed (or canal bed) level plus 0.5 meters to prevent the impact of water flow, which may push stones, silt, debris, etc., into the bottom transverse frame of the gate, preventing the gate from descending to the proper position and affecting the water-sealing effect.
2. Prior to gate installation, check all connection bolts for loosening that may have occurred during transportation and handling. If any are loose, tighten them with a wrench.
3. Check if the sealing surfaces around the top and bottom frame connections are misaligned. If misaligned, use a wrench to loosen the bolts at the connection and adjust the sealing surfaces to the same horizontal plane, then tighten them.
4. During assembly, to ensure a tighter seal between the gate leaf and gate frame, reducing the gap after installation, pressure plates and clamping irons are installed on the upper and lower horizontal frames of the gate. Additional top screws are added to the diagonal irons of the side vertical frames. Note that after adjusting the gap, remove the clamping irons and top screws to avoid affecting the opening and closing of the gate.
5. During gate installation, the gate should be installed as a whole. It is prohibited to install the gate leaf and gate frame separately to prevent the gate frame from bending and deforming, which may affect the water-stopping effect and the opening and closing operation.
6. After the gate is hoisted into the reserved foundation layout holes for the second phase concrete pouring, ensure that both sides of the gate frame are tightly supported by a level long level ruler against the plumb line. The horizontal cross frames are to be tightly supported against the horizontal line with a long level ruler. Once the gate is fully hoisted and positioned, adjust the correct front-to-back, left-to-right, and up-and-down positions. Then, securely weld the adjusting anchor bolts to the pre-fabricated reinforcing steel. Use a feeler gauge to check the gaps at all waterstop surfaces, and adjust gaps larger than 0.2mm with bolts to ensure that the large gaps at all waterstop surfaces are below 0.2mm. Support the two sides of the gate back face with steel or wooden rods to prevent them from being compressed during concrete pouring, which could cause bending and deformation of the side frames, affecting the gate's sliding movement within the gate frame. After confirming everything is correct, proceed with the second phase concrete pouring.
7. After the second phase pouring of the gate with cement, it is essential to promptly clear out the cement that has flowed into the gaps between the gate leaf, gate frame, and tightly closed pressure plate to prevent the cement from hardening and affecting the opening and closing of the gate.
