Open Channel Cleaning

No two ash pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only single-pipe open circuit cleaning is allowed. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the ash pipe. This process requires adding cleaning equipment while the system is shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous operation cleaning

This process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while operating under normal ash transport conditions without stopping. Simultaneously, a certain amount of ash-pipe cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler are added to the ash transport line. This is an open-loop cleaning process. The main function of the cleaning additive is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash scale at a specific concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water and reducing the formation of air blockages, ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaner based on the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stages of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers high efficiency, low costs, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.

Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, it includes carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Scale primarily forms due to the precipitation and adherence of salts like calcium and magnesium from the boiler feedwater onto the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Scale buildup on the boiler's heat transfer surface significantly deteriorates heat transfer efficiency, affects the boiler's performance; it can easily lead to metal material damage due to localized overheating, even causing pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, leading to pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the deterioration of the heat transfer surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
