Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash pipeline lines to form a loop, creating a circulating system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates within the ash water pipes for cleaning. Additionally, as the acid washing reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished with more acid. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to create a recirculating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.
Break-open Cleaning
No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires additional cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.
Non-stop machine cleaning
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler for open-circuit cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water and reducing the occurrence of air blockage, ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaner by considering the sludge flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.
2. High-pressure water jet cleaning machinery
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.

(1) Excellent Cleaning Quality: The high-pressure water jet cleaning method can thoroughly remove scale and blockages from pipe interiors and heat exchanger bores, revealing the metal substrate. With its immense energy and supersonic speed, the high-pressure water jet is capable of completely destroying hard scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.
Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base material being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined actions of jet washing, splitting, shearing, and abrasive cutting, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning speed several to tens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, among others. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.
(2) Categorically classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and tube walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easy to dislodge.
Scale is primarily formed due to the salts containing calcium, magnesium, and other elements in the boiler feedwater that precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Scale buildup on the boiler heating surface significantly worsens heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once scale forms, it should be removed promptly using mechanical or chemical methods.
