Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain acidity concentration is added, which circulates through the ash water pipes for cleaning. As the acid washing reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished with acid. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is offline, and it is complex and costly.

Open Channel Cleaning

No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then injecting it into the ash pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous cleaning without shutdown

This process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic fluid into the ash pipeline while operating, without interrupting the normal ash transportation. Simultaneously, a specific amount of ash-pipe running cleaner corrosion inhibitor and pipeline cleaning stripper are injected for cleaning. Open-circuit cleaning is conducted. The main function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic fluid and ash scale within a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing airlock formation, and ensuring the quality of ash pipeline cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: First, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline before cleaning. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the sludge conveying pipeline's cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaler based on the gray water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front sampling point of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers high efficiency, low costs, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety advantages.
Advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined actions of water jet flushing, chiseling, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly shattered and removed, making the cleaning process several to tens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

3. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types of scales.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: a solid scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and a loosely textured sediment that is easy to detach.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts of calcium and magnesium present in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times less than that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly deteriorates heat transfer efficiency, affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to local overheating, potentially leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
