Chemical Cleaning Scale Removal Process
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculation cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a recirculation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain concentration of acidity is added, and it circulates within the ash water pipeline for cleaning. Additionally, as the acid washing reaches a certain level, acid is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to create a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is offline, and it is complex and costly.
Open Channel Cleaning
During cleaning, two grey pipes cannot form a loop; only single-pipe open-loop cleaning is allowed. The method involves connecting one end of the grey pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a specific concentration of cleaning solution in the dosing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the grey pipe. This process requires additional cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.
Continuous operation cleaning
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while running the ash conveying pipe, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash conveying pipe cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaler, performing an open-circuit cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to facilitate the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
Operation method: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scaling in the pipeline, then calculate the acid addition rate and silt transport pipeline flow rate for the addition of cleaning inhibitors and pipeline descaling agents according to the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, collect a sample at the front end of the sludge pipeline every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the latter stage of cleaning, collect a sample at the end of the sludge pipeline every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning process can be deemed complete.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and tube walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detachable.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts of calcium, magnesium, and other minerals in the boiler feed water that precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating.
