Chemical descaling process:

Recirculating closed-loop cleaning

Recirculation cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash removal pipelines to form a circuit, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. It introduces a solution with a certain concentration of acidity, allowing it to circulate and clean within the ash water pipes. As the acid cleaning reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation circuit for cleaning. This process must be carried out when the system is offline, and it is complex and costly.

Open Channel Cleaning

No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open-loop cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the liquid preparation tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous cleaning without shutdown

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally and not shut down, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash-pipe running cleaner and pipeline descaler for cleaning. An open-loop cleaning method is employed. The primary function of the cleaning aid is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the formation of gas blockages, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaner by considering the sludge water flow and acidity. During cleaning, take a sample at the front of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, take a sample at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
The advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(1) Superior Cleaning Quality - Our high-pressure water jet cleaning effectively removes scale and blockages from pipes and heat exchanger bores, leaving the metal substrate visible. With immense energy and ultra-sonic speed, our high-pressure water jets can completely dislodge tough scale and obstructions without causing any damage to the metal.

Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the pressure resistance grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base being cleaned.

(2) Rapid Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined crushing effects of water jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and abrasion, scale can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, ball-shot peening, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.

Components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface must be rinsed with clean water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution - Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate large amounts of dust like sandblasting or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not produce large quantities of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning using pure water is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After the jet is atomized, it can also reduce the dust concentration in the work area, lowering atmospheric dust levels from 80mg/m³ with other methods to below the national safety standards, thus ensuring no pollution is caused.


Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: water scale that is firmly adhered to the pot shell and tube walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts of calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water that precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, about 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel, and when it accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it significantly worsens the heat transfer efficiency, affecting the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the damage to the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
