Chemical descaling process:
Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A solution of a certain concentration is added, and it circulates within the ash water pipeline for cleaning. Additionally, as the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is offline, and it is complex and costly.

Preliminary Cleaning
No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open-circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires adding cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.
Continuous cleaning without shutdown
This process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while simultaneously injecting a specific quantity of ash conveying tube cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler. The system is then flushed open. The main function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also enhancing its solubility in water, reducing air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is: Before cleaning, first estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the ash conveying pipeline by considering the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, collect a sample at the front end of the ash pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, collect a sample at the end of the ash pipe every 15 minutes to test the pH value. The cleaning can be deemed complete when the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes.

Since the pressure of high-pressure water is less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of water jet washing, wedge splitting, shearing, and grinding, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting and shot peening techniques, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.
Additionally, components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require a second cleaning process; whereas, after chemical cleaning, the surface needs to be rinsed with clean water.

(3) Non-Environmental Pollution: As high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate a large amount of dust like sandblasting, grit-blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not produce a significant amount of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet, using pure water, is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. Pipe Scale
(1) Classified by chemical composition, it can be divided into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is mostly a mixture of the above three types of scales.
(2) Categorized by physical properties, there are two types: water scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium present in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, about 2 to 5 times less than that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heat-absorbing surface, it severely deteriorates the heat transfer efficiency, affects the boiler's performance; it can easily lead to metal material damage due to local overheating, potentially causing pipe burst accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, leading to pipeline lime scale corrosion and speeding up the deterioration of the heat-absorbing surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
