Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, allowing it to circulate and clean within the ash water pipes. As the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown, and it is complex and costly.

Open road cleaning

No two ash pipes should form a loop during cleaning; only a single ash pipe should be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the ash pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the liquid tank, and then injecting it into the ash pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Non-stop cleaning

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while operating, without interrupting the normal ash transportation in the ash pipe. Simultaneously, a certain amount of ash-pipe-running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler are added for open-loop cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash deposits at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing solubility in water and reducing the formation of air blockages, ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline, then calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate for the injection of cleaning inhibitors and pipeline descaler based on the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, collect a sample at the front of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity, and strictly control the acidity by adjusting the flow rate of acid addition. In the later stages of cleaning, take a sample every 15 minutes at the end of the sludge pipe to test the pH value. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning process can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined effects of jet washing, wedging, shearing, and grinding, scale can be quickly broken and removed, making the cleaning process several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, simple mechanical, and manual methods.

3. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is usually a mixture of the above three types of scales.

(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: scale that firmly adheres to the pot shell and pipe walls, and sludge that is loosely textured and easily detached.
Scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water being precipitated and adhering to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, about 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. The formation of scale on the boiler's heating surface significantly worsens heat transfer efficiency, affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn due to localized overheating, even leading to pipe burst accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion and speeding up the deterioration of the heating surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using either mechanical or chemical methods.
