Recirculating Closed Circuit Cleaning
Recirculating cleaning utilizes two existing parallel ash removal pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulation system with the cleaning pump station. A certain concentration of acidic solution is added, which circulates through the ash water pipeline for cleaning. As the acid washing decreases to a certain level, the acidic solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a recirculation loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out while the system is shut down, and it is complex and costly.

Open road cleaning
During cleaning, it is not allowed for two gray pipes to form a loop; only single-pipe cleaning is permitted. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the fluid storage tank, and injecting it into the gray pipe continuously or intermittently. This process requires the addition of cleaning equipment during shutdown, resulting in higher costs.
Continuous operation cleaning
The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while the ash pipe is operating normally without interruption, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash pipe running cleaning inhibitor and pipeline descaling agent. This is an open-loop cleaning process. The primary function of the cleaning aids is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and the ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the formation of air blockages, and ensuring the quality of ash pipe cleaning.
The procedure is as follows: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the descaling agent and pipeline cleaner by considering the sludge water flow rate and acidity. During cleaning, take samples at the front end of the sludge pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the acid flow rate. In the later stage of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the sludge pipe every 15 minutes. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be considered complete.

Pipe Scale
(1) Categorized by chemical composition, they include carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, among others. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively; mixed scale is often a mixture of the above three types of scales.
(2) Classified by physical properties, there are two types: water scale that is firmly adhered to the pot body and pipe walls, and sediment that is loosely textured and easy to detach.
Scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water precipitating and adhering to the metal surface upon heating. The thermal conductivity of scale is very low, about 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When scale accumulates on the boiler's heat-absorbing surface, it significantly worsens heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can easily cause metal materials to burn out due to localized overheating, even leading to pipe explosion accidents; it also accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline scale corrosion and hastening the damage to the heat-absorbing surface. Once scale forms, it should be promptly removed using either mechanical or chemical methods.
