Chemical cleaning scale removal process:

Recirculating Closed Loop Cleaning

Recirculation cleaning utilizes two original parallel ash removal pipelines to form a loop, creating a circulating system with the cleaning pump station. It introduces a solution of a certain acidity concentration, which circulates and cleans within the ash water pipeline. As the acid cleaning reaches a certain level, the solution is continuously replenished. For short-distance single ash water pipelines, if conditions permit, a temporary pipeline can be laid to form a circulating loop for cleaning. This process must be carried out during shutdown, and it is complex and costly.

Open road cleaning

No two gray pipes can form a loop during cleaning; only a single gray pipe can be used for open circuit cleaning. The method involves connecting one end of the gray pipe to the cleaning unit, continuously preparing a certain concentration of cleaning solution in the mixing tank, and then continuously or intermittently injecting it into the gray pipe. This process requires adding cleaning equipment during shutdown, which increases costs.

Continuous operation cleaning

The process involves continuously injecting a certain amount of acidic solution while running the ash conveying pipeline, simultaneously adding a specific quantity of ash conveying pipeline operation cleaning inhibitor and pipeline cleaning descaler for open circuit cleaning. The primary function of the cleaning additive is to promote the reaction between the acidic solution and ash scale at a certain concentration and flow rate, while also increasing its solubility in water, reducing the occurrence of air blockage, and ensuring the quality of ash pipeline cleaning.

The procedure is as follows: Prior to cleaning, estimate the required acid amount based on the total scale in the pipeline. Then, calculate the acid addition rate and the flow rate of the sludge pipe operation by considering the flow rate of the grey water and the acidity. During the cleaning process, take a sample at the front end of the grey pipe every 30 minutes to test the acidity and strictly control it by adjusting the flow rate of acid addition. In the later stage of cleaning, test the pH value at the end of the grey pipe every 15 minutes. When the pH value reaches a certain level and remains unchanged for 30 minutes, the cleaning can be deemed complete.

2. High-pressure water jet cleaning equipment
High-pressure water jet cleaning offers advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, non-damaging to workpieces, environmental friendliness, ease of operation, and safety.
The advantages of high-pressure water technology include:

(1) High-quality cleaning - During the high-pressure water jet cleaning of pipe and heat exchanger bores, it can completely remove scaling and blockages from inside the pipes, revealing the metal surface. The high-pressure water jet, with its immense energy and supersonic movement, is fully capable of destroying hard scaling and blockages without causing any damage to the metal.

Due to the pressure of high-pressure water being less than the compressive strength grade of metal, high-pressure cleaning will not damage the base being cleaned.

(2) Fast Cleaning Speed: Due to the combined action of water jet washing, splitting, shearing, and abrasion, scaling can be quickly broken and removed, which is several to ten times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, ball-blasting, simple mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.

Components cleaned with high-pressure water jetting do not require secondary cleaning; however, after chemical cleaning, the surface chemical needs to be rinsed off with clear water.

(3) No Environmental Pollution: Since high-pressure water jet cleaning uses pure water as the medium, it does not generate a large amount of dust like sandblasting, shot blasting, or simple mechanical cleaning, which can pollute the atmosphere and harm health. It also does not produce a large volume of waste liquid like some chemical cleaning methods, which can contaminate rivers, soil, and water quality. The water jet cleaning with pure water is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. Pipe Scale

(1) Classified by chemical composition, they can be categorized into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale, etc. The main components of carbonate scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate; the main components of sulfate scale and silicate scale are calcium sulfate and silicate compounds, respectively.

(2) Categorically divided by physical properties, there are two types: hard scale that firmly adheres to the pot and tube walls, and loose sediment that is easily dislodged.
Lime scale primarily forms due to the salts like calcium and magnesium in the boiler feed water, which precipitate and adhere to the metal surface upon heating. Lime scale has a very low thermal conductivity, approximately 2 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. When lime scale accumulates on the boiler's heating surface, it severely impairs heat transfer efficiency and affects the boiler's performance; it can also lead to the metal being damaged by localized overheating, potentially causing tube explosion accidents; it accelerates galvanic corrosion, causing pipeline lime scale corrosion, and speeds up the deterioration of the heating surface. Once lime scale forms, it should be promptly removed using mechanical or chemical methods.
