Quartz Plate Heater Installation, Operation, and Safety Information
Xuchang Infrared's quartz plate infrared heaters emit infrared energy primarily in the mid-to-long wave range. The energy is generated by a tungsten filament within the quartz tube. All objects above 0 degrees Celsius emit infrared energy, offering a safe and effective non-contact heating method. However, all high-intensity heat sources require certain precautions during installation and operation. The following precautions are provided for using mid-to-long wave heating elements with quartz tubes:
Infrared heaters should be installed by qualified personnel to ensure compliance with all relevant electrical safety standards.
Ensure that the power source matches the rated voltage of the infrared heater; additional voltage will reduce the operational lifespan of the heater.
3. When installing quartz panels, it's best to position them as horizontally as possible. When an angled installation is necessary, pay attention to the opening direction of the quartz tube. The angle of the tube's opening should be no more than 15 degrees up or down.
4. The milky quartz tube exhibits excellent heat-absorbing properties and a certain degree of penetration, thus the quartz plate heater heats up faster than the ceramic heater, and its thermal inertia is significantly reduced compared to ceramic as well.
5. Heat generated by quartz infrared heaters must be released reasonably; it is not advisable to concentrate the heater in a very confined or close to the heated object work environment to retain heat. When the heater exceeds 760 degrees Celsius, it will rapidly reduce the lifespan of the heater (e.g., about 20,000 hours at 400 degrees, only 5,000 hours at 800 degrees).
6. Quartz plate heaters are secured by a metal housing to a quartz tube, as with all quartz products, they should be handled with care. Additional mechanical or physical force during operation and installation can break or damage the quartz plate. Quartz fragments can pose a danger to personnel or the heating process.
7. For quartz plate infrared heaters with power density of 36KW/M2 or higher (such as SFEH 600W), it is mandatory to select the built-in thermocouple provided by CERAMCIX for temperature setting to ensure the heater's lifespan.
The thermocouple wire of the infrared heater has positive and negative poles; the green marking indicates the positive pole. The extension wire for the thermocouple must use the thermocouple wire and cannot be replaced with a standard wire.
9. Quartz plate infrared heaters may exceed 600 degrees Celsius. Like all high-temperature heat sources, caution must be exercised to ensure that there are no potentially explosive gases that could ignite upon contact with the glass tube in the air environment during the heater's operation. In all cases, operators are responsible for ensuring that the heater is suitable for their specific application.
10. Quartz plate infrared heaters can reach high temperatures. Caution must be exercised to ensure that personnel do not come into contact with the heater during operation. Maintain a safe distance from the heater to avoid the risk of being burned by the infrared output.
11. The thickness of the quartz plate infrared heater mounting plate should be controlled between 0.8mm and 1.5mm. The hole size should be 39mm x 14.5mm. The distance between heaters should be 3mm.
