The rapid infrared radiation heating device for fiber optic heating was developed in accordance with customer requirements for heating Φ0.75mm to Φ3.0mm plastic optical fibers. The target heating temperature is 100°C, with a required heating time of 3.0 seconds. For this case, we conducted simulation heating tests, using the heating results of Φ2.5mm and Φ3.0mm fibers as a benchmark. We plan to select a rapid infrared radiation heating element with good absorption properties matched with PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) infrared radiation for manufacturing the infrared radiation heater. This is paired with forced ventilation and a silicon-controlled rectifier voltage controller to achieve rapid heating.
