1. Based onMaterialCategorizedLow-carbon steel ball, medium-carbon steel ball, high-carbon steel ballPrimarily made of materials such as 1010-1015, 1045, 1085, etc.
2. As perHardnessCategorizedSoft and hard ballsThe hardness increases after heat treatment, approximately HRC60-66, commonly referred to in the industry as "hard balls"; the hardness is relatively lower without heat treatment, around HRC40-50, commonly known as "soft balls" in the industry.
3. As perPolished?CategorizedBlack and bright ballsThe ball is not polished, commonly referred to in the industry as a "black ball"; the polished surface is as bright as a mirror, commonly known as a "bright ball."

Carbon steel ball, as the name implies, is a ball made from carbon steel material.
What are the main carbon steel materials used for steel ball production and processing? Mainly AISI 1010, 1015,1045, 1065, 1085 - Carbon content increases sequentially, meaning 1010/1015 are low-carbon steel, 1045/1065 are medium-carbon steel, and 1085 is high-carbon steel.
These three materials each have their own performance advantages and disadvantages, and are used for various purposes in daily life and production. The same is true for the production and processing of steel balls. After more than a decade of steel ball production, carbon steel balls in China are still in a vague and mixed state. Most commonly used are low-carbon steel balls, while medium-carbon and high-carbon steel balls are rarely produced and processed domestically. This is mainly due to the low demand, moderate quality requirements, and emphasis on price. However, low-carbon steel balls meet the basic needs of customers, being inexpensive and having a certain degree of hardness.
The two main materials used for low-carbon steel balls are Q235 steel and the relatively cheaper, coarse Q195 steel. For customers who have no high surface requirements and a shorter lifespan, Q195 is a suitable choice. Otherwise, Q235 is generally a better option.
Low-carbon steel balls are divided into two types based on heat treatment: unheat-treated low-carbon steel balls, commonly known as iron balls, with a hardness of around HRC27, widely used in welding, ballast, toys, hardware, and electronics; and heat-treated low-carbon steel balls, known as hard balls, with a hardness of HRC58-65, commonly used in grinding, simple bearings, and hardware. The prices of these two types are different, but many clients are not aware of this and merely compare prices, asking around for the cheapest, only to find that the received goods cannot be used due to not understanding the hardness requirements.

We address all your concerns and answer all your questions here:
How to choose steel balls?
(1). If you need high hardness and wear resistance, choose wear-resistant ball made of bearing steel; secondly, carbon steel ball after heat treatment.
(2). If you want to weld something with low hardness, you should use carbon steel balls without heat treatment, commonly known as iron balls.
(3). For superior rust prevention, opt for stainless steel balls, available in grades 304, 316, and 316L, with increasing rust resistance.
(4). For excellent rust prevention and high hardness, opt for the 440 stainless steel ball.
(5). For high precision, choose a higher grade; the smaller the number, the higher the grade, and the better the precision.
If the above does not resolve your疑问, and you're still unsure about the type of steel ball you need, feel free to ask our customer service. Clearly explain your application, and our professional staff will provide you with a specialized answer to ensure your satisfaction!
2. Quality Assurance
(1). Raw Material Assurance: Direct sourcing of steel billets from major steel mills.
(2). Production Equipment Assurance: Introduction of production equipment and testing instruments.
(3). Technical Staff Support: Over a decade of technical staff are on 24/7 rotating duty to ensure production control.
(4). Strictly enforced scientific and rigorous production management system: stringent management, adherence to production regulations, and traceable accountability.
(5). A sealed and clean dust-free workshop: Ensures the high precision production of precision steel balls.
3. Shipment Information
(1). Samples via SF Express: A limited number of samples are available free of charge, with shipping fees to be paid by the recipient.
(2) For shipments under 300 kg, we use Yousu Express, Best Express, Deppon Logistics or Courier, Jiayi Logistics, Shangqiao Logistics, and others.
(3) Shipments over 300 kg use dedicated logistics; generally, pick up at city logistics centers. If pick-up is required at the county/district level, please specify. Additional delivery charges will apply for delivery service.
4. Packaging
We offer a variety of packaging options, including woven bags, cardboard boxes, pallets, iron drums, bottled, and ton bags, and can customize packaging to meet customer requirements.
5. Where to Ship From
Due to our factory's rural location, logistics and express delivery are not convenient. Therefore, we rent a large warehouse in the Liaocheng City's major logistics park to store goods and ship them out for our customers.
6. Return and Exchange Policy
If it's our responsibility and the quality doesn't meet standards, we cover the round-trip shipping costs for returns and exchanges. If it's the buyer's responsibility, returns and exchanges are possible as long as it doesn't affect resale, with the buyer covering the shipping costs both ways.
