Interior Corrosion Protection Technology: Hot Melt Epoxy Powder Coating
Internal epoxy coating, epoxy resin powder is a polar molecule, a thermosetting powder coating, directly related to the heating temperature. The reaction temperature of epoxy powder is divided into gelation temperature and curing temperature, with gelation temperature lower than curing temperature. During the gelation process, the coating only undergoes melting and leveling without producing a curing reaction. It must be continuously heated again within the specified time to achieve full curing. Once the epoxy powder reaches the curing temperature, it can react and bond with the steel pipe matrix, exhibiting strong adhesion. Additionally, epoxy resin is a high polymer material with excellent corrosion resistance and dense coating with good impermeability. 3PE Corrosion Protection Technology: The full name of 3PE Corrosion-Resistant Steel Pipe in Chinese is Three-Layer Polyethylene Corrosion-Resistant Steel Pipe. It involves applying a 3PE (Three-Layer Polyethylene) corrosion protection medium to the outer wall of the main steel pipe after it has been thoroughly rust-removed in accordance with engineering requirements. The corrosion protection structure consists of three layers: one layer of heat-fused epoxy powder, and the second and third layers are adhesive and polyethylene bonded spiral layers.
The 3PE corrosion-resistant coating is generally composed of three layers:
One layer of epoxy powder (FBE > 100um)
Double-coated Adhesive (AD) 170-250um
Three-layer Polyethylene (PE) 2.5-3.7mm
In practical operation, the three materials are blended together to become one, then processed to form a durable anticorrosive coating that firmly bonds with steel pipes. The processing methods generally include winding and round mold wrapping, with winding being the more commonly used method.
