Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, commonly known as CPVC or chlorinated vinyl chloride resin, is a product obtained by further chlorination of polyvinyl chloride resin.
The specific chlorination process involves: crushing polyvinyl chloride, followed by chlorination, filtration, water washing, neutralization, and drying to produce the final product.
The chlorine content of PVC is 56.7%, while the theoretical chlorine content of CPVC can reach as high as 75%; however, in actual industrial production, the common chlorine content of CPVC is typically between 64% and 75%.
