In recent years, as the construction of new infrastructure projects in cities across the nation has been bustling, the issue of water resources in major cities has become increasingly prominent. Consequently, the application of architectural design and planning solutions for water safety, water pollution treatment, and water ecosystem construction projects has become crucial. Among these, permeable paving techniques play a vital and irreplaceable role in reducing flood disasters, cleaning water flow, and implementing rainwater collection systems in major cities.

Common permeable paving methods include ceramic permeable bricks, PC polypropylene PP permeable ground, finely textured stone paving, and grass paver installation. Today, I would like to introduce to you one of these methods, namely, the application of permeable bricks.

The ceramic permeable bricks are made primarily from waste ceramics, further enriched with other mineral materials. After being formed under high pressure, they are fired at high temperatures to achieve longevity. The layered texture of the permeable bricks can rival marble, yet they possess the functionality of allowing water permeation, making them ideal materials for corrosion-resistant flooring in house renovations.

The actual categories include: Non-fired ceramic permeable bricks, which are engineered building materials made from inorganic materials as the key raw material, and formed using inorganic or organic chemical binders according to the standard specifications for ceramic permeable bricks. The production process of these bricks does not require firing, thereby saving labor and time. Functionally and in terms of characteristics, ceramic permeable bricks can be further classified into bricks that are impermeable or only slightly permeable, and bricks that are inherently permeable. In the case of impermeable ceramic permeable bricks, their permeability is achieved through the joints or seams formed during the assembly or laying process.

Non-porous ceramic permeable pavers are made by adhering differently colored ceramic tiles to a specialized resin board in specific sizes and patterns, resembling mosaics. The resin board features support feet at the bottom, allowing rainfall to seep through the joints of the tiles into the ground. This type of paver installation is cost-effective, lightweight, and easy to disassemble. However, it comes with a higher cost due to its design complexity.

01 Super Abrasion-Resistant

After long-lasting high-temperature sintering of raw materials, the physical components of the inhalable particulate matter are melted and then cooled, making them suitable for use in road paving for motor vehicles.

02 Good water permeability

Porcelain Permeable Pavers: Selected with effective bulk density, capable of quickly adjusting to light to moderate rainfall amounts.

03 Strong Water Retention Solubility

The green ecological environmental protection ceramic permeable bricks feature: high moisture retention and hydration capabilities, with a pore rate of 25%. Under normal circumstances, a brick measuring 300mm x 300mm x 55mm can retain and hydrate up to 0.98kg. During rainy weather, it can absorb and store moisture, retaining water in the rural foundation and brick body, which can then undergo chemical reactions and evaporation, thus alleviating the urban heat island effect in large cities. Additionally, it can provide moisture to surrounding green plants. According to the characteristics of the ceramic permeable bricks, the ground can "not retain water during heavy rain, and not get shoes wet during light drizzle." In new infrastructure projects in large cities, these bricks can reduce the consumption of landscape and greenery maintenance, and save on ground drainage equipment.

04 Excellent anti-freezing and thawing cycle properties

The ceramic permeable bricks feature a large interparticle porosity, stable firing, and possess high-quality resistance.

05 Ground Anti-Slip Treatment with Excellent Performance

The ceramic tiles have a rough surface for particulate matter absorption, allowing for quick penetration of precipitation. After rainfall and snowfall, they do not retain water or cause icy surfaces, and the anti-slip treatment meets the expected goals very well.

June: High-Quality Eco-Protection, Green Environmental Protection, and Eco-Efficiency Characteristics

Ceramic permeable bricks can be made from industrial waste materials such as ceramic waste, sediment from sewage pipes, particles, and waste fire safety thermal insulation materials, as well as fireclay. These materials are utilized to maximize the efficiency of the raw materials. Moreover, the crushed ceramic permeable bricks can be reused for further firing.

07 Improved urban microclimate and mitigation of flood disasters caused by urban conduction blockage

The porosity of ceramic permeable bricks ranges from 20% to 30%, offering high-quality water storage capabilities. During summer, after heavy rainfall, water is absorbed and infiltrates into the ground, nourishing water sources, vitalizing the soil, and providing moisture to green plants, flowers, and herbs. When sunlight is bright, the evaporation of moisture can reduce ground temperatures and improve the local climate. Moreover, laying ceramic permeable bricks can also reduce the probability of urban flooding disasters and block the transmission of precipitation.

08 Excellent wind erosion resistance skills

Green ecological environmental protection ceramic tiles and permeable bricks possess high-quality resistance to strong weathering and strong acid erosion, making them suitable for use in ports.

September's High-Quality Decorative Art Design Solutions

The "Pure Rain" ceramic permeable bricks, produced through the traditional ceramic manufacturing process and fired at high temperatures, offer a wide range of colors. Interior designers can use them to create elegant urban garden landscapes with porcelainized products that do not fade.
