Metal stamping is a process that uses presses and molds to deform or fracture materials such as stainless steel, iron, aluminum, and copper into sheets or extrusions, resulting in shapes and sizes with specific dimensions. Metal stamping manufacturing is a method for processing and producing these techniques.

In reality, metal stamping is sometimes also referred to as sheet metal forming, but there is a slight distinction. Sheet metal forming refers to the shaping process using materials such as sheets, thin-walled pipes, and thin sections. The shaping methods of plastic processing are collectively termed sheet metal forming, where deformation in the thickness direction is generally not a primary consideration.

Solution to Uneven Embossing on Metal Stamping Parts:

Inspect the cross-section: During the cutting of rolled materials, the wear and damage of the cutting die can produce a lot of fine iron powder adhering to the blade edge. Therefore, it is necessary to check the double cross-section in the material area or on the stamping line before the stamping production to promptly clean the sheet material and remove burrs.

2. Shear modulus inspection and correction: The cause of unevenness after shearing is due to iron powder generated during the shearing process, thus it is necessary to observe the iron powder before stamping to prevent unevenness.

3. Inspection of the Plate Material Cleaning Equipment: It is essential to check and adjust the cleaning setup before stamping production to ensure it can clean plate materials more effectively. This is highly necessary, and attention must also be paid to the roller gaps and the quality of the cleaning oil. The detailed method involves applying red paint on a steel plate and passing it through the cleaning setup. Then, inspect the causes of the paint removal. If the removal rate is not up to standard, the cleaning setup must be checked and adjusted. It is crucial to reduce the cleaning oil promptly when it is low.

4. Draw Die Inspection and Correction: Regular inspections and maintenance of the draw die are essential to minimize the occurrence of surface imperfections and maintain stability. Typically, this involves checking the sample for adhesion scratches and finishing surface conditions (die corner radii, punch corner radii) around the flanging edge.

5. Appropriate Robot Arm Speed: In semi-automatic drawing die production, when the drawing punch is in the lower die position and the robot arm moves at a high speed, burrs may fall onto the punch's upper surface, causing unevenness. To avoid this issue, we can conduct a trial run on the product discharge before production, adjusting the robot arm speed and discharge angle appropriately to ensure it does not come into contact with the product or the lower die.
