The gantry crane, also known as a bridge crane, is a type of crane with a bridge supported by ground-mounted legs on both sides.
Composed structurally of the portal frame, large vehicle running mechanism, lifting trolley, and electrical parts, etc.
Some gantry cranes have one leg on one side and support the other side by running on a factory or pier, known as semi-gantry cranes.
The overhead bridge of the gantry crane, including the main beam and end beam, legs, and lower cross beam, etc., constitutes the structure.
To expand the crane's operational range, the main beam can extend beyond the support legs on one or both sides, forming a jib.
A crane with an articulated boom can also be used to expand the crane's working range through the boom's pitch and rotation.
