As the term "folding" becomes increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, what exactly is a folding structure? What are the structural features of a folding bicycle's upright tube?
Folding structure applications and design leverage material properties and structural design to address issues of product usage and spatial utilization. Here, usage methods are the key to product design, and there is an intrinsic connection between folding design, human-centric design philosophy, and green design principles.
A bicycle upright folding structure, comprising an upper upright tube, a lower upright tube, and a folding mechanism. The folding mechanism consists of an upper housing and a lower housing connected by a pivot. The upper upright tube is connected to the upper housing of the folding mechanism, and the lower upright tube is connected to the lower housing. The feature lies in: an elastic pin is set within the mating surface of the upper housing of the folding mechanism, and a corresponding pinhole is provided in the mating surface of the lower housing. When the elastic pin is inserted into the pinhole, the upright tube extends; when the elastic pin is removed from the pinhole, the upright tube folds.
