Corrosion of wooden crates has a significant negative impact on both product packaging and the goods themselves. It not only leads to mold growth but also reduces the load-bearing performance of the wooden crate packaging, causing it to collapse during loading or transportation, resulting in damaged goods and disrupted logistics. So, how can wooden crate packaging be protected from corrosion?
1. Apply tung oil for preservation
Applying tung oil to wooden crates is a simple and effective method of防腐. Tung oil, a quick-drying vegetable oil, offers防腐, moisture resistance, and protection against insect infestation to wood. Applying tung oil not only has no adverse effects on the crates but also strengthens, polishes, and enhances their quality.
2. Corrosion Protection for Overlaid Plastic Film
Applying a moisture-proof packaging material, such as plastic film, to the inner side of wooden packaging boxes can effectively prevent harmful gases or objects from entering the box, reducing the risk of external erosion to the wooden boxes. During transportation, the boxes can also be wrapped and covered with plastic film externally to enhance the anti-corrosion protection of the wooden packaging. Care should be taken to handle the wooden boxes gently during wrapping.
3. Asphalt Coating for Boilers and Pipelines
Boil the asphalt, then secure the wooden packaging boxes. Apply glue at the seams of the box. Corrosion protection can also be applied. Due to asphalt's excellent waterproof, moisture-proof, and corrosion-resistant properties, it also withstands acid and alkali, salt mist, and atmospheric exposure, making it a commonly used method in wooden box corrosion protection. Remember to wear protective gloves when applying asphalt.
4. Utilizing chemical preservatives
Wooden box corrosion caused by environmental factors is an objective issue that is relatively difficult to change in daily life. We can reduce the nutritional value of the wood fibers in the boxes by using chemical preservatives, making them no longer a food source for fungi and insects, and effectively preventing corrosion.
