Iron bed frames are quite common in our daily lives, and their maintenance is quite important. For instance, in our schools, the beds in student dormitories are mostly iron bed frames, some of which are bunk beds. Often, we may cause some damage or wear and tear during everyday use. Therefore, when using them, we should pay attention to the following points:

1. Prevent dings. Handle the iron bed frame with care during transportation; place it in a spot where hard objects rarely come into contact. Once a location is chosen, avoid frequent changes. The ground where the frame is placed should also be level, with furniture legs firmly and evenly touching the floor. If unstable, over time, it may cause slight deformation in the wrought iron furniture, affecting its lifespan.

2. Clean Dusting. Opt for 100% cotton knitted cloths as dusters to wipe down the surface of iron bed furniture. For dust in crevices and raised designs on the furniture, use a soft wool brush for dusting.

Stay away from acids and alkalis. These can corrode iron beds. If the iron bed frame accidentally gets沾上 acid (such as sulfuric acid, vinegar) or alkali (such as lye, soap water, soda water), rinse the stained area immediately with clean water, and then dry it with a dry cotton cloth.

Avoid direct sunlight. Position the iron bed frame away from windows where it can be directly exposed to sunlight. Long-term exposure to the sun can fade the paint color; the colored paint layer may crack and peel off, and the metal may oxidize and deteriorate. If strong sunlight is encountered and the furniture cannot be moved, use curtains or blinds to shield it.

5. Keep away from moisture. Maintain indoor humidity within the normal range. Furniture should be kept away from humidifiers, as moisture can cause rust on metals and chipping off of chrome plating. During major cleaning, avoid using boiling water to wash iron frames; instead, wipe them with a damp cloth, but do not rinse with running water.

If the iron bed frame is rusted, do not arbitrarily sand it with sandpaper. For small and shallow rust spots, dip a cotton cloth in machine oil and apply it to the rusted area, wait for a moment, then wipe it off with a cloth to remove the rust. If the rust has spread and become severe, it is advisable to have a relevant technical personnel come for repairs.
