The slagging agent is processed from perlite sand, primarily composed of silicate, formulated through special processing and blending. As it expands, it rapidly forms a skin-like layer on the surface of the metal liquid, adhering to the slag and foreign particles to create an expanded mass. Then, using the appropriate tool, the bonded expanded mass can be picked out in one go, resulting in pure metal liquid.

The addition amount varies depending on the type of metal liquid. The quantity used varies with the size of the ladle and the capacity of the melting furnace. Generally, the addition amount is around 2% of the weight of the metal liquid. The specific amount can be adjusted according to the area of the melt, the temperature, and the impurity content of the metal being melted.
