Bottled water may seem fresh, but it's not advisable to drink it immediately after filling. Whether it's distilled, reverse osmosis, mineral, or other purified water, despite multiple filtration and sterilization processes during production, ozone treatment is typically used before bottling. This results in a high concentration of ozone in the newly filled bottles. While ozone is a potent sterilant, its strong oxidizing properties can be harmful to human health. Inhaling ozone can damage the skin, causing wrinkles and dark spots, and in severe cases, it can impair the body's immune function.
So, if you drink bottled water while it's "fresh," you're undoubtedly ingesting toxins as well. A recommended approach is to let the fresh bottled water sit for 1-2 days before drinking, allowing the ozone to dissipate. Additionally, bottled water is not necessarily safe for drinking, especially when used with water dispensers. The faucets, intake ports, and drain outlets can easily allow air-borne microorganisms and floating particles into the water桶, causing secondary contamination. To prevent drinking water that has been contaminated a second time, it's advised to boil the water before consumption.
