Retractable awnings are increasingly prevalent in our daily lives. However, many people have yet to master the correct maintenance methods for these awnings. The lifespan of an awning is limited, much like a person; without proper care, its lifespan will correspondingly shorten. Below are some specific maintenance tips.
One: Upon returning home with a new canopy, remember to apply additional seam sealant to the waterproof stitching areas. Since the canopy has been through a long journey from manufacturing to the store and into your hands, this additional waterproofing measure is taken to prevent any adhesive failure.
Keep the canopy as dry as possible before storing it. After finishing outdoor activities, remember to hang the canopy up to dry. If it's a bit dirty, gently brush it with cold water! Never use chemical detergents or scrub too hard, as this will damage the waterproofing layer on the fabric surface, reducing the canopy's waterproofing effectiveness.
When cleaning the canopy, it should be fully opened and cleaned while dry. Follow the correct steps during maintenance, avoid leaning on the canopy, and do not apply excessive pressure. For canopies with automatic controllers, always first turn off the power and deactivate the self-control unit before performing any operations.
Four, for components made of aluminum alloy on the canopy, acidic or abrasive materials cannot be used as they will damage the surface. Extra care must be taken when cleaning the aluminum alloy frame, usually with a soft cloth and cleaner. Additionally, it is important to note that cleaners used on high-grade aluminum alloy should not come into contact with the canopy fabric.
