Nowadays, most people opt for laundry detergent when doing the laundry. It's gentler than other cleaning agents and more suitable for modern washing machines.

But how do you choose a detergent, and what criteria should you use? How do you select laundry liquid? In fact, high concentration, low foam, and low viscosity are the three key standards for assessing the quality of detergent powder.

Is More Concentrated Detergent Always Better?

No, the viscosity of laundry detergent has nothing to do with its performance. Many people think that the thicker the liquid, the more substance it contains. This is a misconception. The cleaning factor of laundry detergent primarily consists of surfactants, not thickeners, and most thickening agents have no impact on the washing process. Therefore, the thicker the laundry detergent at home, the better it should be chosen!

How to Choose Laundry Detergent:

1. High concentration

Concentration primarily refers to the content of active substances in laundry detergent. Generally, a higher concentration of active ingredients means stronger cleaning power.

2. Less foam, easier to rinse.

Low-foaming detergents are popular internationally, producing less foam that's easier to rinse out. They reduce the number of rinsing cycles, saving water and electrical energy. Front-loading washing machines have a higher requirement for foam volume, especially when using low-foaming detergents, to prevent overflow.

3. Low viscosity

Viscosity is mainly affected by the amount of thickener used. A high-quality detergent should have an appropriate viscosity, which will enhance its water solubility and make it easier to dissolve.

In addition to the three functional distinctions mentioned above, there are also some guidelines for choosing laundry detergent: Look inside, good quality detergents have a uniform, thick consistency without distinct layers; in terms of color, high-quality detergents maintain a stable hue; when they have a fresh scent, it doesn't linger; and when they have a fragrance, it doesn't change.
