Deep drawing is a special stamping method. Its principle is to apply external force to sheet metal, strip, tube, and profile materials through presses and molds, causing plastic deformation or separation, thereby obtaining the required shape and size of stretched parts (drawn parts) and stretched metal parts. What are the common issues with the drawing die?
Stretching piece mold wall cracks often occur near the side walls at the corners of square columns and in the vicinity of the mold cavity radius corners (rcd). It is difficult to predict during the mold design stage. This includes the inverted W-shaped, 45-degree cross-grid, with the stretching direction at the top.
A crack has appeared in the corresponding area of the punch shoulder. This defect occurs due to insufficient material strength when the drawing load reaches the material's breaking load. The defect is located in the corresponding part of the punch shoulder R (rp), which is closer to the impact mark line than rp. Since the impact trace lines of the fractured area differ from those of other parts, they can be observed and inspected, and the corresponding issues can be addressed and resolved.
