When installing the switch, be sure to differentiate between the live wire and neutral wire connection points; do not install them in the wrong position to avoid affecting the safe operation of the circuit. The installation height is also worth noting. Such switches are usually not installed individually but commonly in a row with multiple installations. The height of the switch from the ground is approximately 1.2m to 1.4m, and the horizontal distance from the door frame is 150mm to 200mm. For exposed switches, it is recommended to use an insulating protective shell.
The switch contains a slider inside, which is actuated through various mechanisms to move the slider, thereby connecting or disconnecting the switch contacts, enabling the switching function. It can also be described as a switch that, by pushing a handle with a moving contact, allows the moving contact strip to connect from one set of stationary contact strips to another, thus changing the circuit connection.
