Fabric Knowledge

Textiles are typically woven into cotton, synthetic, and blended fabrics. The main advantages of cotton are its sweat absorption, heat dissipation, softness, comfort, and lack of static electricity, which is beneficial to the skin, with the drawback of being prone to wrinkles. Synthetics are known for their resistance to wrinkles, but they lack sweat absorption, breathability, and are prone to static electricity, making them unsuitable for sensitive skin and more likely to pill on the surface. Blended fabrics, such as cotton mixed with synthetics, balance the pros and cons, achieving an ideal result.

2. Standard Process

① Printing: Patterns are determined by the design and sent to manufacturers for plate making. Colors are applied to the designated areas on the garment using dyes, and the item must be completely dried before collection. However, note that the printed items should not be washed with overly hot water and should not be washed only for the pattern to prevent it from fading and affecting the pattern's appearance.

② Embroidery: Based on the design patterns determined, the manufacturer adjusts the needle count and colors on a large embroidery machine (usually a computerized embroidery machine) and stitches them in place. Pay attention to trimming the excess thread ends of the embroidery. The finished effect is that the thread stands out on the fabric's surface. Do not rub or wring the embroidered areas when washing.

③ Beading: Based on the design pattern, manually sew beads or pieces onto the garment, typically using fishing line or PP thread. Be cautious not to rub or wring the beads or pieces when washing, and avoid machine washing.

④ Washing: The main function of washing is to reduce shrinkage in finished products and achieve a smooth surface finish. It mainly includes the following types: Normal Wash, Heavy Normal Wash, Sand Wash, Enzyme Wash + Stone Grinding, and Double Enzyme Wash. For Normal Wash, use the original material and Quinoline oil for 2-3 minutes; Heavy Normal Wash: same material, time extended to 5 minutes; Sand Wash: use stone powder, original material, and Quinoline oil for 15 minutes, then wash with the original material for 5 minutes, others are similar.

3. Washing Instructions for Clothing

The general washing methods for clothes include dry cleaning, machine wash, and hand wash. Wool knitted sweaters, pure wool overcoats, and standard double-layered coats should be dry cleaned to prevent shrinkage and distortion of the inner layer, which can damage the appearance of the garment. When machine washing, separate white and colored clothes to avoid color bleeding and fading. Additionally, clothes with hand-embroidered patterns, beadwork, or printed designs should be gently machine washed inside out to prevent pattern loss and maintain the garment's appearance. For knitwear and sweaters, it's important not to hang them to dry with water still on them using a hanger, as the elasticity of the fabric can cause stretching and distortion.

Two: Clothing Coordination

Color coordination in clothing is the key to dressing successfully; most people use the colors of their clothes as a code to introduce strangers.

"Take a look at the lady in the red dress over there," or "Oh! Remember the gentleman in the gray suit?" The dominant colors of their clothing often leave a striking impression.

1. Daily dressing can be divided into two major combinations

Color-coordinate pairs like pink and dark blue

② Color Collisions: White + Dark Red, Orange + Army Green

Avoid color combinations such as blue + beige, beige + gray, or bright colors.

2. Color's Camouflage Effect

The visual effect of color has a fascinating and unique role—it can disguise body flaws and highlight strengths, endowing individuals with a distinctive aura.

For example:

Narrow-shouldered figures can choose: bright tones or muted shades.

Short and stocky individuals can opt for consistent muted or deep tones.

Choose Bold Thighs: Bright or Dark Tones
