What are the distinct characteristics of Teflon fabric? Commonly, it exhibits high-temperature resistance and is not soluble in most solvents. However, it also has its limitations:
Teflon fabric has limited strength and is prone to tearing at cracks or creases. Therefore, Teflon fabric should be free of creases.
Teflon fabric, although heat-resistant, does have its limits. Normally, it can withstand up to 260 degrees Celsius without issue. It can briefly reach 380 degrees Celsius, but prolonged exposure can lead to property damage. Therefore, Teflon should always be used within its temperature range, which is typically between -70 and 260 degrees Celsius.
Teflon's wear resistance is also limited; it can be easily damaged upon contact with sharp objects.
