Storage: To maintain the solderability of the terminal and ensure the packaging products remain in good condition, it is essential to pay attention to the temperature and humidity in the storage area. The humidity, in particular, should be kept as low as possible.
Recommended ambient storage temperature must be maintained below 40°C. Even under ideal storage conditions, the solderability of surface mount solid capacitors will degrade over time; therefore, they should be used within 6 months after delivery. Surface mount solid capacitors should be stored in an area free of chlorine or sulfur.
Ambient Temperature: Below 30℃
Relative Humidity: Below 70%
Capacitance values of high relative dielectric constant capacitors gradually decrease over time, thus requiring extra caution in designing power circuits. Even though the capacitor values decrease over time, they can be restored to the default value after one hour of heat treatment at 150℃.
Technical FAQ: Storing surface mount ceramic capacitors in high-temperature and humidity conditions can rapidly degrade solderability due to air oxidation at the terminal and quality damage to the termination/packaging materials. Therefore, power capacitors should be used within 6 months after delivery. If the above deadline is exceeded, please check the solderability before using the surface mount ceramic capacitors.
