The origin of our logo can be traced back to an ancient "totem" from the distant past. During that time, each clan and tribe had an animal or natural symbol with a certain mystical connection to serve as their special mark or totem. For example, the Nüwa clan had the snake as their totem, the ancestors of Xia Yu revered the yellow bear, while others had the sun, moon, and raven as their totems. Early people would carve these totems onto their living caves and labor tools.

Over time, these symbols became the标志 of sacrifice, evolving into tribal flags and emblems. With the emergence of the state, they further transformed into national flags and seals. Ancient people, in their production and social life, continuously created and widely used various types of symbols for easy communication, to signify meanings, distinguish the characteristics and affiliations of different objects, such as road signs, village signs, inscriptions, seals, and crests.

In many respects, these are all LOGOs. In ancient Egyptian tombs, vessels adorned with LOGO patterns were mostly the manufacturer's LOGO and name, which later evolved into symbols. In ancient Greece, LOGOs were widely utilized. LOGOs have also been discovered on ancient Roman, Pompeian, and Palestinian buildings, featuring simple patterns like the crescent wheel, grape leaves, and similar motifs. In medieval Europe, soldiers' armor bore subtle identifiers on their helms to distinguish their affiliation, and noble families had their family crests. In ancient China, since the time of workshops and shops, signs like招牌 (招牌) and幌子 (shelter banners) accompanied them. By the Tang Dynasty, there were already subtle LOGO patterns on the paper produced, and by the Song Dynasty, the use of trademarks had become quite common.

Logo design, synonymous with emblem design, refers to the act of creating symbols for goods, companies, websites, etc., tailored to their themes or events. There is also a book with the same title.
